How to Choose the Right Truck Tire
Know Your Load Rating
Half-ton trucks (F-150) usually come with P-metric (Passenger) tires. If you tow >5,000 lbs regularly, upgrade to LT (Light Truck) tires.
HD trucks (F-250+) MUST use LT tires with Load Range E (10-ply) or F (12-ply). Never install P-metric tires on an HD truck.
Understand Tire Types
Highway (H/T): Best for MPG, quiet ride, and long tread life.
All-Terrain (A/T): The sweet spot. Good on-road manners with off-road capability.
Mud-Terrain (M/T): Aggressive looks and deep mud traction, but noisy and wear faster on pavement.
Sizing & Lifts
Most stock trucks can fit 1 size larger without rubbing.
33" tires usually fit with a leveling kit.
35" tires typically require a 2.5"-4" suspension lift.
